Social hiphop from the districtseven. Carpathian Canaan – Pannon Babylon.

17th December, Thursday
22.00 Lamm Trio
Lamm Dávid - guitar, Soós Márton - bass, Balázs Elemér - percussion

The Lamm Dávid Trio, is not a regular jazz band playing standards that can be an influence of Dávid, the band is named after whom. Our hero participates in countless formations, rapping, plunking klezmer and jazz, pushing trip-hop, writing fusion songs, plays with Elemér Balázs and performs in Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley Memorial Bands if needed. Our hero is countless, actually. The repertoire is also eclectic. Bass player Márton Soós has also many faces (Modern Art Orchestra,Fábián Juli Quartet, Hagesher, Oláh Szabolcs Quartet, Balázs Elemér Group) Elemér Balázs – at the drums – needs no introduction, however, it is interesting in his case, that he plays the hip-hop grooves really cool (who would have expected this?)

19th December,  Saturday
21.00 Nigun
Nigunim are songs of devotion, spiritual chants whose purpose is to induce a state of ecstasy in both performer and listener. The band was founded by András Párniczky in 2001. Evoking East-European Jewish traditions is not so unusual in the American jazz sphere:
think about John Zorn and musicians of Tzadik records. In Europe, Nigun is the only follower of this line, the origins of which are found both in
deepen spirituality and today's jazz. Nigun likes genre-bending, "klez-jazz" is the best label for their music.
