Kőleves VII. 35 Kazinczy str. www.koleves.com |
Kőleves (in Hungarian Stone soup) is a restaurant in the middle of the Jewish quarter, in the corner of Kazinczy street and Dob street. Our major policy is that everyone should feel home at us. For this reason we don’t put a white linen table cloth on the tables and our waiters are also not dressed in uniform. The emphasis is rather on the delicious food, the light, human service, nice atmosphere and inner spaces. Deriving from the easy feeling of the place many young people are our guests, but luckily we also have our middle-aged guests from all over the world who come regularly to our place. Beyond our being known as a restaurant, we also function as exhibition place, and organize 3-4 exhibitions yearly. In the cellar of Kőleves, we organize concerts, parties, lectures-performances.

Triton Electric Octopus
János Vázsonyi can be called, with right, the most well-known (well-heard) jazz musician in the night-life of Budapest. He will play with the formation Triton (also known as Drums) that performs not too often, under different names, for over 15 years. Since 2006 the formation has its stable members: Attila Herr (bass guitar) joined by Mátyás Premecz (keyboard) and Márk Badics (percussion). The band can easily be called fusion jazz, it incorporates ethno (if we invite them to play at Chanukah, you can guess what kind), funk, rock, hip-hop and everything that is a friend of your ears. So it is very good and rare to hear. Come and listen!
